Cathy and Greg DeMeo dined out with my parents at da'Vida this past Saturday, April 21. As winner of Dad's "Anguilla Photo Challenge" at the Anguilla Beaches Facebook page, she won a 5-star dinner with Mom and Dad.

Cathy chose da'Vida, one of our very favorites...

Judging from the full report on the Anguilla Beaches Facebook page, a great time was had by all.

Congratulations, Cathy (AKA "THE Anguilla Expert")! And thank you to da'Vida and the other 5-star restaurants who sponsored this fun little competition!

Lloyd's Bed and Breakfast...
The Top Choice B&B For Anguilla on a Shoestring

Lloyd's Bed and Breakfast is Anguilla's most charming and affordable B&B.

This historic hotel (the island's very first!) is conveniently located in Anguilla's center, near Crocus Bay and Little Bay. The vistas over the Anguillian countryside and onto St. Martin, and even St. Barths, are breathtaking.

The rooms are fresh and tastefully decorated, the Lloyd's team is warm and accommodating, and a full breakfast is served daily (included in the rate).

Everyone eats together, and everyone knows each other. A true sense of family and unity exists at Lloyd's. When we visited, Merline Carty made us feel right at home. She has been part of the Lloyd's family for over 20 years.

Lloyd's Bed and Breakfast is a special Anguilla hotel, a true piece of history and culture.

At under $150/night (yes! you read that right!), Lloyd's B&B is a top choice for many travelers to Anguilla.

Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay at da'Vida's Bayside Grill

This past January we spent a lot of time "sitting on the dock of the bay" at da'Vida's Bayside Grill, one of our favorite spots for a lunch-and-beach afternoon.

The restaurant recently installed a floating dock, perfect for docking your boat, catching sun rays, and, my favorite, jumping off of...

On one of our visits to da'Vida's Bayside Grill this year, we arrived to find a full buffet set up and at least a hundred beach chairs lining the bay. da'Vida was a beach-day site for a convention of lawyers and judges from the States in Anguilla on a day trip from St. Maarten.

Tip: If you are in need of a site to host a large gathering in Anguilla, da'Vida is the spot!

The party was well accommodated, without making the other guests feel over crowded and not attended to.

Have you tried my Dad's special photo challenge on Anguilla-Beaches.com's Facebook page?

My Dad recently posted photo #5 out of the total of 10 photos that he will be posting over the course of this contest. Click here for challenge #5.

You win the contest by...

being the first to correctly identify the location of the photo

adding your own interesting story about the particular location

Highest combined total wins.

Even if you have not participated yet, you can still win by adding stories to past challenges!

My Mom and Dad will take the winner (and significant other) to dinner at 1 of their 4 favorite 5 Star restaurants! The restaurant choices?...

Kristin and my Mom have nothing but great things to say about Petals Boutique at Frangipani Beach Hotel on Meads Bay.

Checking it out for myself has been high on my (and Yuki's!) list of "Next Time in Anguilla."

We recently had the chance now that we are home for the holidays (for universities in New York we get an "extended holiday" that lasts until the end of January)...

It lived up to its positive reputation!

Petals Boutique is really the top Anguilla-wear outfitter and souvenir shop. They carry many hard to find labels that suit Anguilla's tropical temperatures, and unique and travel-friendly souvenirs for friends at home. Mainly a store for women, I even found a fun gift for my Dad...

From the Asian-inspired four-course meal, to the setting, to the fantastic firework display, it was a night to remember...

Ripples has long been one of our favorite places for dinner in Sandy Ground.

Laid-back, a cozy atmosphere, great food... How can you go wrong?

Ripples is not only a nice dinner choice. The restaurant is a go-to spot for special events and holidays...

Jacquie, the owner of Ripples, goes all out for special events like Halloween, Thanksgiving in Christmas.

Thanksgiving comes highly recommended by my friend Kristin Bourne!

You may have heard that Ku Hotel in Anguilla is closed and for sale. That is the widespread impression. Well, the hotel is for sale, but it's open. And so is its restaurant, which is now called Moments.

My parents headed down to that area to see the large waves that are hitting the northern shores. They discovered that both the hotel and the restaurant are open. The restaurant is now called Moments.

They talked to the owner of Moments, Lorraine Logan. She said that many people believe they're closed. Time to correct that for them and help them out a little! It's been a perennial favorite spot for many, despite its many reincarnations (Le Bar, Tasty's Too, Sea Sand).
