Anguilla Beach Lovers

Issue #044, May 14th 2009

The past two weeks have been a whirlwind!

When I last emailed you, my family and I were approximately 18 hours from setting off to St. Barts. Talk about a new experience! From take off to landing back in St. Martin, excitement ran high.

Many Anguillians and people visiting Anguilla will take a day trip to St. Barts. The tiny island would be perfect for an afternoon of shopping in Gustavia and dining at a roadside bistro. Looking for a little more R&R though (leaving computers at home), we went for three days...

We were very fortunate to have clear, blue, sunny skies in St. Barts. Back in Anguilla, the weather had really turned. It has been stormy, windy, and rainy. They say that it feels like this before hurricanes. My parents have been checking the forecasts, nothing on the horizon yet! But Hurricane Season officially starts on June 1.

Another first for us... After years of hearing about the delicious roast beef on the island we finally sank our teeth into the real British McCoy...

Did you know that Paris is in Anguilla? Well, she was... Paris Hilton, that is. It was her first visit to the island and my first celebrity encounter on Anguilla!

You can read about Paris' Anguilla holiday here.

On top of all these happenings, I have received floods of wonderful visitor travel stories! To those who have been sending stories and photos in, thank you so much. I love reading them and looking through your photos.

Tim Adams from Windham, NY sent in many photos of him and his wife dining at Johnno's and Scilly Cay, and even a photo of their flight to AXA. On top of the great pictures, Tim included a wonderful report of his favorite things about Anguilla. It's truly a great guide to Anguilla, he has reminded me of many things I have yet to do here! Thank you so much Tim for the stories and the photos.

Carol Richardson shared a review on Anguilla's latest high end restaurant, Da-Vida on Crocus Bay. They have been working on that development for a while, and I was always curious... what is it going to be? It sounds lovely, Carol. I can't wait to try it!

I have a real soft spot for Anguilla weddings and honeymoons, so Jonathan Rosario's honeymoon story and review of Sheriva made me smile. Sheriva looks so elegant and exclusive. It must have been the perfect spot to spend such a magical vacation. Sigh!

If you have any Anguilla wedding or honeymoon stories, or any sweet Anguilla travel stories, list of favorites and must-dos, please click here to share. I always look forward to reading them!

And everyone loves a good celebrity story and photo. Please share your "encounter of the famous kind" by clicking here.

That's all for now...

Over the next couple of weeks I will be reworking the Villa Directory, and my Hotel Directory. I am going to update them, adding more villas and hotels, but the goal is to create a resource of accommodations that will better help you plan your Anguilla vacation. If you have any tips or recommendations, please click here. I appreciate any advice you can give! Thank you. :-)

Until next time,
Enjoy the sweet spring air,

Nori
