My Dad always says that the best way to visit anyplace, especially if it's your firist time, is with locals who are friends. You get to see all the really neat little spots and eat at non-touristy restaurants that might take you several trips to try.
And what a wonderful reunion! Imagine "re-meeing" someone through the Internt after almost 20 years.
