Deals on Anguilla Hotels in November

Limin' at Scilly Cay

One of the best deals I could find was for Anguilla hotels was Ferry Boat Inn... $99/night and all great reviews! No pool, but it's on the beach, walking distance to the Anguilla ferry to St. Martin, a bar and a restaurant overlooking the beach and views of St. Martin.

Also, check out Allamanda Beach Club on Shoal Bay... more great reviews and only $110/night. This place has terrific value because it has a pool, it's walking distance from Gwen's Reggae Reef (for ribs, chicken, and great rum punches) and Malakh day spa (couples massage is HEAVEN), and a beach walk to the Ku hotel on Shoal Bay East beach which has a great breakfast in their indoor/outdoor beach restaurant.

My wife and I stayed at the the Arawak for a week last time. Very nice people there and also good value. This trip we're going to "hotel hop" and use the money we save for the finest dining on the island and patronizing as many businesses as we can.... don't forget the great street food too!!!!

We're also going to rate everyone's rum punch and try to put some kind of "rum punch map of the island" together. If anyone will be there on the 15th through the 22nd of November and wants to meet for a drink, let us know. We're also looking for suggestions for a day trip or overnighter on a nearby island... probably St. Martin but we're open for suggestions.

Any ideas are welcome! :-)

Nori's Reply: Ferry Boat Inn is a great spot. This Anguilla restaurant serves our family's favorite burgers, but more than that - the people are warm and welcoming. If you haven't already, you will fall in love with the bartender, Christian. He makes every night at FBI (Ferry Boat Inn) a fun one! Killer location, too...

Allamanda Beach Club is also a nice spot. Sam Mason, owner of the Anguilla villa Tortue, owns this hotel too. The accommodations are great value!

This time around, if you have a chance, check out da'Vida. This is our favorite Anguilla resaturant. It's ideal for a long afternoon, dinner, or just sunset drinks.

My Dad is looking forward to your rum punch report! ;-)

Have a wonderful trip. I would love to hear all about it when you get back! Safe travels.

Thanks Ken!!!

....and a pleasure to hear from you. We stayed at the Arawak in April...we'll be sure to stop back to say hello in November and have Maria's version. I actually had one made by Smoothie (from smoothie's water sports) at Arawak. He was singing one night with another local musician/fisherman named Terry. I had one of his own on shoal bay east on our last day in April...very notable. I'm aquiring a list of places to hit up. It may take several trips to do it but I'm going to give it a go.

Can't wait to try Da'Vida. Yours and Nori's advice are priceless and proved a useful guide on our trip in April. Our best!!!

Did Someone Say Rum Punch Report
by: Anonymous

Tim,

Dad here (Nori's).

I anxiously await your rum punch report! ;-) Make sure you try Maria's at Arawak. Don't drive after two. Bring a respirator if you attempt three.

And I agree with you about Ferryboat Inn. It's a favorite, low-cost restaurant with great burgers. Christian's a really nice guy. And I've heard great things about the inn itself, too.

Do try da'Vida this year. It's outstanding.

Have a great trip in November, it's a perfect time to come. Low rates, not busy, and almost out of hurricane season (low risk by that time).

All the best,
Ken (AKA "Dad")
