Everyday is Consumed By Thoughts of Anguilla!!!

by Rick Vandervoort
(Mill Neck, N.Y., USA)

I just returned from beautiful Anguilla once again. I am already planning my next trip. I really miss all of the friendly people and friends we have made on several visits past. The weather, the water, the powdery white sand beaches, the goats, driving on the left, and the best restaurants and people anywhere.

I am now in the suffering mode each cloudy, damp and cold day I spend here on Long Island.

The only thing that keeps me going is staying in touch. Last month we made great contacts with Suzie at AARF where I continue to support the animal rescue efforts, and my wife is helping Janine Edwards with breast cancer awareness on the island.

We are looking to re-locate whenever a job may become available.

OH, I forgot - we got married on the beach at Meads Bay with the help of Lisa Webster, Mary Richardson, Christian, Rocklyn and others. I truly miss Peter at Straw Hat and Deon at Ku Anguilla hotel. I hope one day to work with them. I also miss Gwen and Tap at Gwenn's Reggae Grill on Shoal Bay (hold back that erosion guys!).

Most of all... I miss the feeling of being there.

I hope soon I will be there to stay!

Nori's Reply: Thank you so much Rick and Pam! I would love to see pictures from your Anguilla wedding! What a magical day that must have been. :-) Meads Bay is one of Anguilla's most spectacular beaches.

I couldn't have said it better! I may miss the restaurants, and the rum punches, and the beaches, and all of the warm people, but really, what I am trying to say is "I miss the feeling of being there." I know the feeling of missing AXA from NYC now, too. I hope we both make it back "home" soon!

Berner HS., Massapequa, NY
by: Sue McKinney

Looking for Rick VanderVoort, that graduated in the 60's from Berner HS in Massapequa, NY. Did 3 tours of duty with Marines in Nam, then opened a bar on Long Island.

Been a very long time, but always wondered how you were. Mom (92) still remembers you.
