I added a response to "anaonymous" because of the discounting nature of his/her comments. If you didn't want to publish my exact comments...I truely would appreciate your taking off my earlier comments entirely. I don't want this issue to take on a commical perspective and that is apparently what it has become at the moment.

Possibly this "rat" was a mouse? Because of our warm climate, everything thrives. There are lizzards, and an indoor variety called "wood slaves" by the locals. They hide behind picture frames and eat mosquitos. I have had mice squeeze under a French door with less than 1/4 inch of an opening, into my home. Usually a sticky trap takes care of the furry problem. I am sure your hotel would work hard to eliminate rodents, but unfortunately Anguilla is a great place for all God's creatures! Please forgive them!
