Peace & Serenity of a Beautiful Church

Peace & Serenity of a Beautiful Church

Reading Darlene's story of her "day-trip" to Anguilla was a complete repeat of our story.

We traveled the Caribbean since 1978 and "hit" a different island for a 10-14 day vacation each year. We vowed never to "hit" the same island twice until we spent a week in St. Maarten and did the same thing, took a "day-trip" to Shoal Bay Beach.

While there we promised to make our next vacation destination, Anguilla. The following year we followed through and stayed at what then was Shoal Bay Resort next to Uncle Ernie's.

After a few days there we said; "Remember that vow we made to never "hit" the same island twice?" Well that was it. We made history We've been back to Anguilla 11 times without any other island visits in between.

We found the best combination of great people, terrific food and breathtaking beaches of any of the many islands we've traveled. We'll be back next April, 2009 for another two-week stay...can't wait.

Here's a beautiful picture of the interior of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. I'll post other pics of it available if Darlene (or anyone) is interested.

Anguilla Churches
by: Anonymous

Steve - Thank you for sharing such a magnificent photo! I spent a couple weeks in Anguilla and wanted to experience what a service would be like in Anguilla but I never did do it. However, I plan to return many more times!

If anyone else has any experience of the churches in Anguilla, I would love to read your comments.

Truly Sensational Anguilla Church
by: John Simon

I've passed that church 1000 times if I have passed it once. I have never gone in. I will the next time.

Somehow, I assumed it would be quite plain. Anything but.

Thanks very much for the photo (and ditto for the next page in this series which gives us several more views).

Wow.
