The Beach At Cap Juluca

by Michael Koch
(New Bloomfield, MO)

15 years ago, for three whole days after we flew in from 'Stacia', my son and I had the time of our lives. We left the resort only once to go to a famous restaurant (I do not remember the name) that had a fabulous wine cellar (cave) which had a lot of 'dust on the bottles'. It inspired my family to establish our own vineyard in Missouri and we produced our first real crop last Fall.

The island has some magical powers of influence and of course we would like to return there to see it all, but the vineyard has its rewards as well.

Prosit!

- M Koch of Cedar Crest Vineyards and soon to be winery.

Nori's Reply: Wow! What a huge impact. You're right, Anguilla does have magical powers and the ability to change peoples lives! I don't know which restaurant you went to specifically... The one that I am thinking of is Koal Keel. Could that be it? They have an extraordinary wine cellar! I also uploaded a picture of Maunday's Bay, the beach that Cap Juluca calls home, for you. It's a beautiful bay! Thank you for your story. Good luck with your winery! :-)

Mike

our family 'lucked out' and got booked into an exclusive apartment right on the beach in Anguilla right next door I believe to Cap Juluca

we booked at the last minute with a st. louis travel agent, told them we didn't care where, just get us out of the freezer; and we ended up in a private unit belonging to the Mrs. Eileen Ford family (the model agency in NYC)--her husband was having heart surgery so we lucked into staying in their place--AMAZING

we ate at a restaurant on the other side of us, also right on the water, and sat at the table next to the famous actor from st. louis, kevin kline

what a small world...

best to u
