The opening party at Da-Vida Restaurant in Crocus Bay

by Carol Richardson
(Crocus Hill, Anguilla)

The restaurant held an opening party Thursday night, May 2nd, attended by many. It is a beautiful building right on the Crocus Bay beach, spacious and open, with dining tables on one side and a bar and lounge area on the other side. Valet parking was also provided. A live band from Miami provided the entertainment, with wine, punch, and hors d'oeuvre for the guests, including many "locals".

I was so glad to see the old Tamarind tree was spared during construction and the steps leading to the beach was built around the tree! Crocus Bay beach is a quiet sheltered bay visited by many charter yachts and a favorite "locals" beach. David Lloyd, owner of Lloyd's Guest House on the corner of Old Court House Road and the end of Coronation Avenue, is the proprietor.

Nori's Reply: Aha! So that's what that development was, huh? It sounds like it was a beautiful event. Thank you so much for sharing, Carol. Do you have any photos? What kind of food do they serve? I'm so curious!

Nori's Update: Da'Vida is really one of the island's finest Anguilla restaurants. It's more than a restaurant, really, with their second floor additions and beach concepts. Truly spectacular. Click here to read about dinner at da'Vida.
