Banje Beach In Croatia

Banje beach, Dubrovnik is a famous Croatian hotspot

I don't agree that beaches worldwide have a hard time matching to the beauty of Anguilla beaches, especially if you haven't visited my country, Croatia. I do hope that people know where Croatia is.

Croatia has more then 1055 islands and it’s very difficult to choose the most beautiful beach. There are so many beaches along Croatia’s Adriatic coast and even much more on its islands that it would take the whole year to visit these most attractive beaches.

I have visited a lot of Croatia’s beaches but the one I admire most is Banje beach in Dubrovnik, the pearl of Adriatic. This beach is not a sandy one. Dubrovnik beach "Banje" is a well known pebble beach with beautiful views over Dubrovnik Old Town.

It is located in front of the eastern entrance (Ploce Gate) to Dubrovnik Old Town below the luxurious Excelsior Hotel and Argentina Hotel in Dubrovnik. The beach has its reception, restaurant and cafe bar on the water front with often snobbish clientele. Here you can rent your deck chair and parasol, jet ski, speed boat, and god knows what else - it keeps changing from summer to summer.

The photo above is the best proof of the Banje beach beauty, considering that you can watch the everlasting Dubrovnik old town.

Dubrovnik is incredibly beautiful. Even coming in on the plane we flew in around sunrise over all these mountains with low cloud settled in all the valleys. It was absolutely stunning.

Hi Paolo,

What a great piece about a place you love. I guess we all choose the most beautiful beaches in the world based on what we know. I'll have to convince my parents to vacation there one day to compare for myself. But 1055 islands? That's 1050 more than Anguilla has!

Best regards,
Nori
