Captain's Bay

Captain's Bay On A Calm Day

Captain's Bay On A Calm Day

No beach on Anguilla compares to Captain's Bay. Sure, it may have a deathly dangerous undertow, and all swimming is "at your own risk", but it's undeniably beautiful, nonetheless.

Captain's Bay beach is a perfect white sandy, crescent beach. The bay itself is a vast contrast to its sweet shortes... The waves are wild, the seas are dark and the breeze even seems chillier and stronger there than anywhere else on island.

It certainly isn't your typical Anguilla beach, but it's still my favorite!

But, I agree with you know Nori - too bad a giant Anguilla villa now takes up the eastern half of it.

Great site,
Cheryl

Captains Is My Favorite Small Beach
by: Nori

I agree, Cheryl. Captains is a perfect crescent of sand. It has been my favorite small beach ever since I first laid eyes on it. And you're right. I heard there has been a drowing there. So it's great to look at, but I'd not risk swimming in it, especially if it's rough which is most of the time. Nori
