Outreach concerts at the Primary Schools
The Volta Music Foundation, in partnership with Anguilla’s Department of Education and Department of Youth and Culture, proudly announces the successful completion of its second annual one-week strings intensive in Anguilla. The program, which ran from May 25–31 2025, brought world-class music education, cultural exchange, and community engagement to the island through a dynamic series of concerts, daily instruction, and volunteer training.
Building on the momentum of last year’s inaugural visit, this year’s initiative featured:
1. Three Live Educational Concerts presented by Volta’s professional string quartet at local primary schools, sparking enthusiasm for classical music and string instruments among hundreds of young students.
2. Daily Hands-On Instruction in violin, viola, cello, and double bass for students enrolled in the Volta programme, led by visiting Teaching Artists from Florida.
3. Volunteer Development Workshops that trained local adult volunteers—many of whom are learning to play and teach string instruments themselves—to become future beginner-level instructors in Anguilla.
4. The week culminated in a Final Community Concert held Friday, May 31 at ALHC, where student musicians, adult volunteers, and Volta’s string quartet took the stage together. The performance was met with an enthusiastic audience and marked a powerful showcase of talent, growth, and cross-cultural collaboration.
All programming, instruction, and instruments were provided completely free of charge to participating families.
Volta Music Foundation continues to invest in communities where talent and enthusiasm are abundant, even when resources are not. Through immersive programs like this, Volta helps nurture young talent while training local leaders to carry the mission forward.
