Whitehaven Beach

by Vashti
(Australia)

Located on Whitsunday Island, the largest of 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays, off the north-eastern coast of Australia, Whitehaven has to be one of the top beaches on the planet.

It stretches for 6 kilometeres (about 4 miles) with ultra fine silica white sand. It's so beautiful not only because of its size and fine sand, but also beacause it is protected so that it will still be there to be enjoyed by future generations.

The photo does not do it justice. It's just one of those beaches you really can't capture in one shot. It is often voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Tourists come from around the world to visit.

This gets my vote for top beach.

Whitehaven Beach
by: Alisha

Whitehaven Beach supporters cite quartz sand pure white and very very bright in the hot sun, offset 7kms clear water, which occurs naturally beautiful blue color. If your idea of the best beach involves having the right color you love Whitehaven Beach. You can go to the beach for more than 5 km, and the camp, swim, dive and shine your jewelry in the sand.
